Our Shops

ACACIA UK has three shops in the county, selling donated goods.

We rely on the generosity of the local community for our donations, and for volunteer helpers, to raise funds for our vital work.

In return, we offer great value prices and a friendly local service.

How to help

We can accept

  • clean and sellable men’s women’s and children’s clothing & shoes;
  • books;
  • children’s toys;
  • homeware;
  • jewellery;
  • accessories;
  • quality linens;
  • small electrical goods in working order.

We welcome donations of any kind of foreign currency, and any sort of discontinued British coins, and damaged or partial British notes.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons we are unable to re-sell children’s car seats, buggies or prams, bike helmets, or bladed items. We cannot accept large items of furniture, kitchen white goods, mattresses or duvets.

If you have an item to donate, and you’re not sure if we can accept it – please just call in advance.

We ask that you please don’t leave donations outside our shops when they are closed. They are often stolen damaged or scattered, and cause an unsightly nuisance to our neighbours. Recently in Abingdon, overnight donations were set alight, causing the destruction and long-term closure of the whole shop.

We could not operate without our amazing team of hardworking, cheerful volunteers.  People volunteer in ACACIA UK shops for all kinds of reasons:  because they support our mission to help some of the world’s most disadvantaged children; to gain workplace skills and experience; to meet people and enjoy team work; to stay active;  to contribute specialist knowledge such as antiques and collectibles; and to have fun.  We have volunteers who work a few hours a week, or come in every day.  If you are interested, just drop in at your local shop and ask to speak to the manager, or email our Shops Coordinator.
